My Response to Weak Minded 'Conservatives'

David Frum wrote a peice in News Week about why he thinks Rush Limbaugh is wrong.  Mary Kate Cary of U.S News and World Report had to chime in about why she thinks Mr. Frum was right.  I'm just an average American who works for a living and pays his own way in life and I had to respond to both of them that they're wrong.  They are both out of touch with the Real America and that Rush Limbaugh knows the Real America as well as us Real Americans.  We are Conservatives and we are not ashamed to say that because there is no real shame in being Conservative. While the urban centers of the Midwest are plagued by Liberals and their policies when you venture out of those areas you will find a very strong Conservative base.  We also tend to be Christian and yes, we have guns.  We believe in God, our country and family pretty much in that order.  We live within our means and we are more than willing to volunteer our time and money to those in need.  

We cannot redefine Conservatism as Liberalism Lite and expect anyone to take us seriously. 

The GOP has been doing this and losing support as it moves more towards the 'middle' and even the 'left'.  The GOP's direction is as clear as fresh tracks in new snow yet they can't see where they've been or how they got to where they are.  Plainly put the GOP has left Conservatism.  We Conservatives are left trying to turn the GOP back in our direction or creating a new party.  You can rest assured Conservatives are not about to follow the GOP as they leave us to join the enemy.

Mr. Steele, the leader of the RCN your continued verbal gaffs reveal your true nature.  No one has to work at remembering who they are if they are presenting their true self.  .  You appear to be presenting a facade.  If you are doing so to deflect Liberal criticism I say STOP and stand up for your beliefs as if you had a pair.  If you're really a 'moderate', 'centrist' or any other euphemism that really means Liberal I say I will not support you and I will not support the GOP.

Mr. Frum and Mrs. Cary - I refuse to change who I am so you will like me. I refuse to redefine Conservatism and go down the road to hell so you can feel better about claiming to be a Conservative.  Your opinion polls are proof that the Liberal controlled schools and Liberal controlled news media has been hard at work of spreading the lies and false hopes of Liberalism. Those opinion polls you cite should be a clear indication of what we need to do to teach this Nation of people the follies of Liberalism.  Instead you look at the poles as an indication that we need to look like a Liberal and give up our ideals. To throw out morality, principles and honor so we can be liked by the amoral, unprincipled and dishonorable is a mistaken philosophy.

I will not redefine Conservatism for you or anyone else.
